Fishing and Summer ActivitiesFishing in our
area is done mostly for Walleye on Fort Peck Lake. Our guides have
many years of tournament experience on Fort Peck Lake for these
fish. The Walleye action starts to pick up around the first of June
and continues strong until the lake freezes late in the year. The
Walleye average between two and four pounds, with six to ten pound
fish caught fairly often. Most of our fishing is done by trolling
spinners, lindy rigs, crank baits, or casting jigs. While fishing
for Walleye, many other species have been caught such as: Northern
Pike, Perch, Small Mouth Bass, Sauger, Saugeye, and Lake
Trout.
Fort Peck Lake holds the state records for Walleye
(16.29 lbs), Sauger (8.81lbs), Saugeye (15.66 lbs), and Small Mouth
Bass (6.09 lbs). Fishing is also available on the Milk
River. |
